What new at the Studio
With this new web site we are now going to start this blog. This is new to me so forgive me for any mistakes I will make during this process.
We are in the process of selling our home in Russell and moving to Metcalfe where we will have a Studio on the main street. With this move we will be able to have a nice storefront and a studio that I feel will serve the clients better. I am not saying that where I am located now is bad location but this place has a better exposure. With this move we will also be starting a campaign and marketing program. One of the new items we are introducing is a high school senior photo session, in which we have a studio session and an outside session. We capture their everyday life and what they are about. With this service you can get photos invitations to give out for graduation or a party, coffee table books and much more. With this being new to Canada I am looking for a senior girl and a senior boy to have their photos done by me for no charge. This is a $250 dollar value for the session, I will also give you 2 - 8x10 32 - wallets and 4 - 5x7 another value of $400. Things I will be doing!

Well I have done my first destination wedding.
We shot a wedding in Jamaica on June 14th 2008; it was a experience that I hope to do again. I travel there on the 12th of June where I stayed at a resort near the groom’s home. We will be shooting on the beach or near to it. I will be posting some images in the near future.

Wedding dates still open

We still have wedding dates open for 2008 call and we can let you know. We are also booking for 2009 wedding dates.
Family Portrait this summer
With summer here have you thought about a family portrait we can take them outside up at the cottage, in the park or at your home plus we can also do them in the studio. Call and we can give you some Ideas on what we can do to make your portrait different than the rest.
We can do some very different things what ever you can think of.

Wedding Photography Cost

The cost for most of the wedding packages at John Philip Creative Art Studio runs between $1800 to $5000 with most brides and Grooms spending around the $3400.
Do you know what is involved with a wedding and the photography?
It not only the time spent at the wedding. It is also the time for engagement photos, bridal portraits (boudoir). It is also the post work that is done on the photos. Which takes up to 5 minutes per photo and with up to 1000+ photos to go through it takes some time. The pre meetings and post meetings all this is adding into the cost. These are behind the scenes items that people don’t think of. If the photographer is a Professional with accreditations, well he or she have backups like cameras, flashes and other items to insure that if something comes up they can take care of it and still capture your wedding. Is there 2 photographers at the wedding do they have insurance. Are they equipment they have professional, these are things to ask but here at John Philip Creative art Studio we have these things.
With me being a member of the PPO and the PPOC I have the help of other PPO members if something happen to me so there would be someone to shoot the wedding these are the things you pay for the insurance that you will get the wedding photographs of your wedding to treasure for the rest of you lives together it is one of the most important days of your life together.
So when you are looking for your photographer remember that after the wedding when you have eaten the cake put the dress away and all the gifts are open what is left to remember that day it is your photographs the Coffee Table Book that tells your Love Story, so these are some of the things to think of when looking for the photographer.
The next most important think that I can say is that you have to like the person you have doing your photos. If not you cannot get the images you want. I hope this will help a little into your search for your photographer.

Work Shop with John Philip and Brent Gervais

Coming in Augest if we get enough photographers, a workshop with 3 to 5 models in an outdoor location and studio, see and learn posing lighting and composition. We will have room for 8 to 12 people maybe more. It will be an all day workshop with lunch included, you will need to bring you camera, flashes and laptop and a cd we will be printing 1 of you photos you took, you will also need to send the files to me so the models can get some images for there portfolio.
